This lamp was designed to celebrate 70 years of the original anglepoise lamps and redesigned for today. The Type1228 mimics the style of a traditional bankers light.
It features a weighted round base, switched external lamp holder and Grey coloured ambient shade which subtly changes colour when the light is switched on.
Designed by Kenneth Grange and launched in 2004 this lamp is already a timeless classic. Anglepoise has had plenty of companys impersonating their designs and lamps over the years but these are the original and the best desk lamps on the market today, Anglepoise are a British company that has been going for over 75 years and are one of the pioneers of British design.
This lamp is perfect for your home office or work and is the ideal reading light due to the shade being adjustable in any direction.

Product Review: Gorgeous piece of kit. Beware: colours in photos not accurate
An absolutely gorgeous piece of kit. Arrived in a surprisingly small box weighing just under 5kg. Well packaged and delivery was, as ever, highly reliable (thanks Amazon).
Took about 10 minutes to set up properly. Most of this time was getting rid of all the plastic wrapping!! Believe me, its everywhere.
Got it set up in my living room for the moment but eventually its destined for the new office.
I chose the granite gray to match my Mac and it goes perfectly. I read a review from another happy shopper that the gray is a lot darker than it appears in the promotional photos. This is true and I was expecting this but others may not be aware. With the lamp turned off the shade is an opaque grey colour. It looks neat and discrete. The wow factor comes when you turn it on and the shade transforms into this milky/yellowy/gray colour. Its hard to describe but it's a nice touch.
