Product Review: Assembly problem
I attached the metal assembly to the bottom of the seat as in figure 1 of the instruction sheet. Then figure 2 tells you to attach the back to the seat with the 4 screws. The problem was the large angle bracket at the bottom of the back overlaps the assembly fitted earlier, so it will not lie flat on the underside of the seat. This can lead to an early failure of that joint, especially if you tighten the front 2 screws too tight.
I made 2 spacers (thick washers) 4mm thick to fit between the bracket and the seat so the front screws could be tightened without breaking the wooden base of the seat. (3 or 4 washers between the metal bracket at the bottom of the back and the underside of the seat where the 2 front screws go through would do the same thing).
It is a very nice looking chair and very comfortable.
